I posted a new research article today, The Irreni Guarantee. This article is meant to provide reassurance that joining an MGO can be reliably guaranteed to do better than democracy.
However, the article is written from a perspective that Irreni is fully functional and all the Earth’s population has joined in. Getting from here to there will take hundreds of years, likely have setbacks, and may at times do worse than democracy. Especially considering that when Irreni gains even the slightest traction then all of the existing powers that be will come after it. Eliminating hierarchy will be bloody.
The article then is meant to provide assurance that the long run is desirable. The design of Irreni provides an on ramp. Initially MGOs will make hierarchy governments more successful, more rich. Sadly this has to be the case or hierarchy will destroy MGOs before they get out of the gate. The penalty then for the pioneers of MGOs is to shoulder the burden of two sovereigns: their own and the existing hierarchies. MGOs will build survival governments of size thirty all the while paying taxes to the existing sovereigns, double taxation if you will. MGOs will remove burdens from existing nations to provide for their citizens because the citizens rely solely on the MGO mostly. This means more money for the corrupted.
However, over time MGOs will gradually dissolve hierarchy. First local governments will be abandoned. Then States. Then the Federal government. This will take hundreds of years. Otherwise the hierarchy will destroy mesh society.
