The Answer to Capitalism

First off, why the answer to capitalism and not say democracy or climate change? It seems all of our social organizations that include thousands and millions of people are either stagnating or failing?

I chose capitalism because from what I can tell from following news and social media over the last few decades the movement to answer failing capitalism has more energy and some solutions. The “Occupy Wall Street” movement after the 2008 financial crash organized people in a way climate activists have yet to do. Further, Bitcoin was invented in 2008 and over 16 years has spun-off a one-trillion dollar crypto-market today. Clearly Crypto isn’t an viable answer except for hiding money but at least someone tried to do something about failing capitalism. As far as I can tell no one has tried to create solutions for failing democracies. The Unite States is failing and yet no solutions are being put forth except to play musical chairs on the deck of the Titanic while the band is playing

I chose answering capitalism in the hope that this has a better chance for attracting people to Irreni due to this history I observed.

All of our institutions are failing from local government, to healthcare, to education. And I’ll tell you why. They all suffer from the same root cause of failure: hierarchy. Hierarchy doesn’t scale and doesn’t work in an information age. No one person albeit CEO or President managing large groups can possibly hope to keep up with the fire-hose of information. It’s laughable to suggest they can. However, none of us are laughing at the worsening disasters these failures are foisting on us daily.

No one is providing workable solutions because they are not addressing the root cause: hierarchy.

Until now.

Irreni World Scale, aka Irreni Society, is a social organization design that scales infinitely, and most certainly to the nine-billion people on the planet today.

This is because Irreni doesn’t require large institutions. Irreni has one institution, a micro-governing organization (MGO). MGOs have a fixed-size of thirty people. MGOs are survival organizations that like a star ship can survive for long periods of time on their own without resupply. In a group of thirty people everyone is important and their work will matter. A few of the people, about twenty-percent, will participate in larger efforts involving many MGOs.

Everyone belonging to small survival units that can survival long periods of time without resupply alleviates the need for large institutions to directly manage survival. Instead Irreni focuses larger groups on projects of scale. Projects of scale provide two types of goods and services: ongoing resupply of survival and quality of life. To deal with the fire-hose of information that comes in every second of every day in a planet with nine-billion people, then Irreni employees two types of AI. First, a project AI or world AI that runs simulations and makes recommendations for projects involving two or more MGOs. The second type is just like what was imagined on the Enterprise on Star Trek; each MGO will have a dedicated AI to help run automation and make recommendations.

The machines will not make decisions. Instead the machines will make recommendations based upon simulation. These recommendations are incorporated into projects. Projects are voted on by all MGOs where each MGO gets one vote for a project if needed. MGO votes are the only currency in Irreni. The fire-hose of information is taken into account by AI and then the implementation codified as a project contract. Good and services are provided as part of the terms of the project. Because things are always changing all contracts have a lifespan. Ongoing projects must be renewed so as to take into account new information with new simulation on a regular basis.

Finally, Irreni mandates membership management of MGOs in order to manage tribalism. Hierarchy isn’t the only flaw our human nature includes, tribalism is too. Tribalism promotes violence. Irreni management manages the violent tendencies by assigning a single sovereign power to Irreni management: membership. Unruly MGOs that exhibit base tribal behavior are broken up.

History doesn’t arc towards justice. History arcs toward desire. Over the next centuries and millennia the human race will exhibit increasing control over nature and matching increasing capability to impose our desires.
