How do you know if Irreni and MGOs will do better than Democracy? What guarantee do you have?
I could say this is a grossly simplified question to a system designed to manage the all of Earth’s population.
But I understand the sentiment. Most of human history is tyranny and oppression of hierarchy called by various names as monarchy, kingdom, empire, and dictator.
Irreni is a shift from ideals to science. If someone asks you this question and you know very little about Irreni then this is the appropriate response.
Democracy is a system of ideals or ideology. Ideologies have no design to self monitor. If failures ensue then that failure is attributed to people not living up to the ideals. This is not science, just opinion.
Democracy suffers from an implementation problem that has been observed since inception: a government is simply a body of people, notably, ungoverned. Or, who watches the watcher. Democracy, religion, and any system built on a foundation of ideals and ideology suffers from this implementation weakness. All hierarchies are subject to destructive corruption of the government being ungoverned.
The US Constitution has a very weak system of checks and balances to watch the watchers. What is being checked and balanced is corruption, a euphemism for unmitigated power.
The US Constitution also relies on a federation of States to not only check corruption, but dilute its reach.
In 2025 all systems of checks and balances provided in the US Constitution have been overrun and are barely functioning because unmitigated power eventually consolidates. For example, in the early 20th century the US passed an amendment to provide the US government the power to directly tax citizens via an income tax. This power has allowed the US Government to neuter States. US citizens pay substantially more money in Federal taxes than in State taxes. That difference is such that the Federal government gives more money to States every year then States collect in taxes from its citizens. That money comes will tyrannical chains attached to do the Federal bidding or lose money. That State’s power to check the Federal government has been neutered.
The key to designing a system not founded with corruption inherent in its design is to eliminate ideals and ideology. The key to designing a system without a foundation of inherent corruption is to eliminate the unmitigated power in hierarchy.
Science, as opposed to ideals, is based on proving results. Corruption will exist wherever humans exist. However, as system designed to prove results can prove corruption of results.
This is the fundamental guarantee of science based governing. Hypothesis are generated, experiments are created, experiments run, data collected, and results measured against expected results. Governing experiments are called projects. Irreni is a project system.
Mesh society relies on science not ideals. Data is continuously collected. For example, one can measure levels of education. If education levels maintain or go up then how that happens is irrelevant. That’s what it means to say there is no ideology.
Does that mean ideologies are “illegal” in Irreni? First off, Irreni is not a legal system and has no rule of law. Irreni is project system based upon success of the project design and expected results. Second MGOs are free, unencumbered, to use whatever sovereign government they choose. MGOs are fixed size thirty people. They can choose any form of government they desire, including monarchy, theocracy, etc using ideals. What MGOs cannot choose is to do worse.
Irreni is a system of test and measure. MGOs are tested and measured against empirical, historical data. MGOs are heavily monitored to enforce data collection. MGOs are an Internet era government. Everyone has a smartphone. That smartphone has Irreni applications people enter data into daily about education, nutrition, sleep and many other metrics. MGOs are expected to maintain or do better in the expected metrics. Yes, natural disasters and other things out of an MGOs control can derail metric performance and that will be taken into account.
Science versus ideal governing then is an exchange of tyranny by unmitigated power to tyranny of unmitigated performance results. MGOs that don’t perform are split up. It is for this reason Irreni has a management system that collects all the data and publishes results. Irreni management has one sovereign power, MGO membership. MGOs that under perform may have from one member removed and including the entire MGO disbanded.
MGO management is not just about using data to ensure MGOs perform by splitting up those that are under performing. The most common form of membership change will by far be recombination. We have so much more information about human behavior these days than people are aware of. We have science that can model how various personalities combine. MGO management will then be far more vested in recombining MGOs with better performing personality formations than vested in splitting up MGOs because they under perform. This has to be because when a member is removed from one MGO they have to be placed in another MGO. This is recombination.
The guarantee then is that Irreni is a test and measure system, a science system. All other forms of government that have been put forth prior to the advent of the Internet did not have this capability. We have the ability to test and measure with smart phones. We absolutely must use that ability.
It is Democracy that has no guarantee. Democracy relies solely on the good faith of the govern to implement the ideals and not be corrupt. So, really, it is Democracy that should be questioned as to what guarantees exist that it will succeed. The answer is none because there is no one watching the watchers.
One parting thought here about the management system. One could ask, who is watching that watcher, Irreni management? First, everything is results based. If the management system is corrupted and using gains from the many to benefit the one or the few then the results can be proven to be corrupt. Second the management system is maximally federated. Every MGO has three members assigned to the management system. That is ten-percent of the Earth’s population. Third, the management system is itself a project instituted by MGOs. Call it project zero. The project has to be renewed every five years like every other project. Fourth, all MGOs have the power to remove themselves from management. By definition an MGO has a year’s supply of survival goods on hand at all times. This is one “check” MGOs have on management, although definitely not a balance because leaving management means all leaving project work and benefit. No bacon. 🙁
